Kitchen Accident

I cut my finger pretty bad last night, so there are some photos below of the incident. (Actually, now that I see these photos, it doesn't look bad at all; most of you will probably think I'm a little girl, but oh well...) If the sight of blood or stitches makes you squeamish, then don't scroll down...

On Sunday night, I was making dinner for Margaret and I. I had bought some frozen "Texas Toast" and was trying to seperate the pieces with a knife as I held them in my hand. I pressed really hard, and once the knife got past the first 1/4", it went through the rest of the bread like butter, as well as through my pinky finger. The cut was pretty deep, and it looked like some tissue was coming out of the wound; however, I figured I would just wrap some gauze around it and try to let it heal on its own.

I had a rough time sleeping, and the pain had gotten much worse by the following morning, so I went to the urgent care near our house. The doctor said there was a fair amount of fatty tissue hanging out, and I ended up getting four stitches, as you can see.

The wound's still pretty painful, but hopefully the stitches will make it heal quickly. Right now I'm just praying that it doesn't get infected, especially considering the fact that I'm allergic to antibiotics. Luckily the knife didn't go any deeper, though I probably could've claimed $5,000 in AD&D insurance if I had cut my pinky all the way off...
