Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves

I love this song. Its the only song that Cher sings that I really enjoy. Its so 70's, I love it! This song has also inspired me to be a Gypsy for Halloween... I think.

God is Love.

One of my best friends made me a birthday mix for my 22nd birthday. He included 22 songs and even made a cute case for the CD's. Well, one of the songs on the first disc really made me stop and listen... It was great. I tend to stay away from Christian music for many reasons and I'm a bit surprised my friend included this song but I'm glad he did! I think I love it mostly because it touches on how God is love. And I'm all about that:)

Woodstock: 40 Years.

I love everything about the 60's. Especially the clothing, music and the peace revolution that happened. I love Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. My door in college was covered with photos of hippies, Woodstock fliers, Martin Luther and Bobby. I rarely was without a headband across my forehead and honestly believed I would bring back the 60's hippie. One of the first gifts Leif got me was the Woodstock documentary. I have watched that dvd so many times. I love it. I wish I had been a teenager during the 60's. So many great things happened. Changes that have made such a difference. And music has never been as great as it was then.

I am so excited that today marks 40 years since Woodstock. I am celebrating! I hope you do too:)

First Day of My Life

We're back from Southern California. I have more to write but until then watch this video. The song is beautiful. I'm not a big fan of Bright Eyes but this song is perfect. At the wedding we went to this weekend the couple had their first dance to this song:)!

Leif and I love Fleet Foxes. They're so talented and had one of the best albums of 2008. We got to see them last year in September while I was pregnant. We took the metro and some buses in LA to get there. It was seriously one of the best nights of my life. One of my favorite memories of my pregnancy. :) Enjoy.

Pish on Packing.

I hate packing! I especially hate it because I'm doing the majority of it alone. See that pile there? That's a lot to me... And I was so proud of myself but then I walked through my apartment and got that sinking feeling. I was no where near being done.

Lucky for me I'm having a packing party tonight so hopefully that will make a difference:) And this is helping me get through the day: Black Cab Sessions. Its a website that features different bands playing in black cabs in the UK. Its one of the most brilliant things I've ever seen. Go check it out, you'll be happy you did.

By the way: HAPPY JUNE! Celebrate by having a picnic, going to the beach, swimming, having a bbq... You know summer things:) Welcome this month right!

Grizzly Bear and The Red Balloon.

This is a beautiful video that I just had to share. I've been watching it all morning. I first saw it over at Cup of Jo, a blog you should all follow. I know my life is better now that I've found this blog:) About the video though, its edited with scenes from Albert Lamorisse's "La Ballon Rouge" (The Red Balloon), set to Grizzly Bear's song "Two Weeks". So lovely and enchanting. Really.

Good Stuff.

Broken Social Scene is made up mostly of Brendan Canning and Kevin Drew. But they've had a few wonderful contributors like Jason Collett, Feist, Emily Haines and most of the members of Stars. They're also on the record label Arts & Crafts which most amazing canadian artists are on. Over the last three years both have released solo albums that are amazing. This is a video of Brendan's song Churches Under the Stairs which actually features Kevin Drew.

Good music.

Since music plays a really big part in our lives, from time to time we'll just make posts about good music:) So I just wanted to post a few videos I adore by the lovely Feist. She's one of the many reasons I love Canadian's and their music! Feist is also a reminder that good music is still out there.

Hoppipolla.

This is probably one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I could listen to this song over and over and never get tired of it. The video makes it even more beautiful. Its what I imagine Leif and I will be like when we grow old:) He's fun like that.
Sigur Rós is just brilliant.

Only 10 days left...

...until Riley's due date. We're not expecting her until a day or two later, but still:) November 22 is something we've been looking forward to since May, when we got to see her for the first time. I had heard that I would be super anxious and time would drag on around this point, but for me time continues to fly by. I think because I know that these are the last few days of just "Leif & Marge". This waiting period has been bittersweet I guess you could say... I'm really excited for Riley's arrival but I'm sad that things will be changing for Leif and I. The past 8 months with Leif have been amazing. We've grown so much, in our walk with God and our relationship with each other. Most couples get married and wait a few years before having children, giving them a lot more time for just each other. Leif and I on the other hand really only got a few months, but they were months filled with so much more than I would have ever imagined.

God has really blessed us in these past months and continues to do so on a daily basis. He never ceases to amaze me.
